The final Stardew Valley 1.6 sneak peek confirms new Meadowlands Farm type

The wait is almost over

The last in a week-long series of Stardew Valley 1.6 sneak peeks have arrived, and ConcernedApe certainly knows how to save the best until the last. This time, he’s confirmed the addition of a new farm type, to the surprise of no one, but it now has a name — Meadowlands Farm.

If nothing else will convince you to begin a new save file to enjoy everything 1.6 offers, perhaps a new farm type with blue grass and beloved by animals will.

According to the small image that ConcernedApe shared, Meadowlands Farm comes complete with ‘chewy blue grass that animals love’, leaving some in the comments to speculate whether this means produce quality increases will be accelerated due to happier animals.

Perhaps more excitingly, Meadowlands Farm will come with a coop and two Chickens from the offset, meaning you can immediately begin caring for them in order to get their eggs. Perhaps this goes hand-in-hand with yesterday’s update about drinking Mayonnaise, but I don’t want to think about that.

Stardew Valley 1.6 is set to be released tomorrow, March 19, so this is likely to be the last teaser we get from ConcernedApe before we can all play ourselves. With that said, here’s everything we know about 1.6 ahead of its release:

  • Fruit Trees will yield Saplings of the same fruit
  • Harvesting will be at the same speed in either direction
  • Larger area of effect for downward Melee attacks
  • Moving past pets will now take less time
  • Spouses will now have a seven day ‘Honeymoon Period’ in the week after the wedding
  • Jelly, Pickles, Wines and Juices will now reflect the color of their main ingredient
  • We will be able to drink Mayonnaise
