Star Wars star in talks to play Lara Croft

Daisy Ridley wants in on Tomb Raider reboot

Star Wars. You know they actually made another one of those bad boys last year? Taking bets on how soon they start going straight to VHS like other milked childrens’ franchises. Maybe a Land Before Time crossover?

Well, the lead from latest Star Wars, Daisy Ridley, is aiming for top billing elsewhere, according to The Hollywood Reporter. There “have been conversations” about Ridley filling Angelina Jolie’s beige short shorts in the upcoming film series reboot that’s been talked about for five years now. Ridley hasn’t been offered the role yet and there isn’t even a script, but, “I’m waiting for someone to say ‘I want you, let’s do it,'” she said.

Ridley’s co-star John Boyega thinks it’s a perfect fit. “I played Tomb Raider the game, it’s a new take and I think the movies are going to be based on that version,” he said. “But I texted Daisy [and] was like, ‘this is you!’ and ‘you need to get on that because you could be Lara Croft.’ She should be.”
