Star Ocean: First Departure screens and video emerge

Recommended Videos

At last month’s Tokyo Game Show, I got my hands on Square-Enix’s Star Ocean: First Departure for the PSP. I wanted nothing more than to show you how wonderful the game looked, but Squeenix had me on camera lock down, and they only supplied me with a couple of craptastic screenshots. The day has been saved by both Gametrailers and Jeux-France, giving us both video and screenshots of the upcoming RPG.

The above trailer is little more than a Japanese teaser, but it does give you some idea of the quality of the cutscenes I talked about earlier. The low quality of the video does not do the real thing justice.

Jeux-France has got the real goods with a gallery of forty high-quality images from the game. Screenshots of the above-mentioned cutscenes, along with several battle and overworld/map pictures should make any JRPG fan’s day.

Hit the jump for a few highlights.

Those that hate anime may not dig this game.

The pre-rendered backgrounds look great.
