EA brought with them a playable demo of SSX to PAX and Samit Sarkar and Tara Long were there to get their hands-on time with it. They talk about the evolution the title has gone through, contrast and compare the gameplay from past entries with this reboot, how the mountains were made for the game and lots more. Samit even explains that “sports” are played with “balls and sticks.” That’s news to me.
If I were to have my way I would want this reboot to just be an HD version of SSX Tricky. I can’t even begin to tell you the amount of hours I poured into that game back in the day. I do love the direction they’re taking the new SSX in, but I really just want an off-the-wall crazy snowboarding game again. Oh well, the reboot still interests me a lot so I’ll be sure to check that one out anyway.
