Square set for Final Fantasy XV reveals, playable Just Cause 3 at gamescom

I’m on the road to gamescom

As noted in-depth earlier this year, Final Fantasy XV skipped E3 for a gamescom blowout. Square has just set its gamescom lineup and FFXV is well represented, taking up the “big stage” of the company’s enormous, 1,100 square meter booth. The stage will host a variety of presentations, guests, and new information.

Square has 200 demo stations in its “booth.” Final Fantasy XV hands-on is limited to Episode Duscae 2.0, but it’s the first public hands-on for Just Cause 3. Final Fantasy XIV: Heavensward, Life Is Strange, Dragon Quest Heroes and Final Fantasy Type-0 HD (PC) will also be playable.

I’m excited to catch the Final Fantasy XV showing after adopting a cautious optimism about the whole affair and I haven’t played Just Cause 3 yet, so that will be fun. If you’re going you should hit me up and grab some sort of German beverage with me and Brett. A water, maybe.

Xbox is also going hard in Germany’s paint with a slick post up move that might outshine its E3 showing. If only for last year’s announced, Platinum-developed Scalebound. Sony, on the other hand, is skipping altogether to parcel out remaining new things during Paris Games Week (and maybe TGS or a possible repeat of its PlayStation Experience event?)
