Square Enix’s Crystal Defenders hits Android

After being available on iThings, WiiWare, Xbox Live Arcade, and PlayStation Network, Crystal Defenders is finally available on Android.

Square Enix’s tower defense game, set in the world of Final Fantasy Tactics, is said to be available in two flavors: W1, an “introduction” to the game, and W2, a more strategic game that allows players to use the game’s Power Crystal feature. What’s odd is that there’s only one version available for purchase on the Android Market, and it’s simply called Crystal Defenders. It’s priced oddly at $7.42.

I haven’t played Crystal Defenders, but from what I understand, it’s pretty good. But I’m not sure if I’m ready to throw almost $8 at Square Enix for a mobile game, and one that I’m not even sure will run well on my Android EVO 4G hardware. Maybe for $3 or $5, I’d be willing to give it a shot. $8 not so much, though.

Anyone give this a go on their Android yet? Let us know what you think!
