Square Enix ‘looking into’ FF XIII Versus on Xbox 360

Oh shit son! It would appear that Final Fantasy XIII Versus, the last gleaming jewel in the PS3’s third-party exclusive crown, may go multiplatform. Stopping short of confirming it, Square Enix president Yoichi Wada did admit that it’s a possibility, and that his company it “looking into” putting Versus on the Xbox 360. 

“We’ll be looking into it internally until right before the formal announcement,” explained Wada when asked about a potential 360 release for Versus. 

Square Enix caused a riot when it first revealed Final Fantasy XIII for the Xbox 360, with some particularly zealous console fans calling the publisher a “traitor” to the PS3. With Versus long regarded as a PlayStation 3 exclusive, a multiplatform release could be considered megaton, and more than a little controversial. Still, at least now we can’t say nobody saw it coming if it does happen.
