Square Enix employees make bank: $209k a year

I’m not one to get money lust or even envy others that make much more than I do. It’s all about how hard you work, right? Plus, I’m a blogger. I have no place to talk about money.

Sometimes it’s surprising to hear about how much some company employees make. Take Square Enix, for example. According to Tokyo Shoko Research, they are the best-paid staff in Japan. Over everyone, not just other game companies. Looking at the top 20 list, no other game companies even ranked. I bet people are applying at Square Enix’s Japan HQ all day, every day.

On average, the company’s employees pull in 17.9 million yen a year (that’s $209,000 in dollars), and at the tender young age of 41. Do you know how many chocobo you can buy with that kind of Gil?
