Activision has announced that the pre-order numbers for the upcoming Spyro Reignited Trilogy are doing even better than the publisher anticipated.

A re-release of the classic PlayStation titles seemed a foregone conclusion after the amazing success of Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy. But Activision sure kept the fans rabid with anticipation until the ultimate reveal of the game, one month ago today.

Spyro Reignited Trilogy will comprise of remakes of three of the purple dragon’s greatest adventures: Spyro the Dragon, Spyro 2: Ripto’s Rage! and Spyro: Year of the Dragon, all of which are being rebuilt from the ground up for the nostalgic compendium.

Speaking in a recent financial conference call, where the company posted a hugely profitable first quarter, Activision stated that pre-orders for Reignited Trilogy were “well ahead of expectations”, with the game’s debut trailer being viewed “tens of millions” of times. Looks like those those profits are set to grow and grow.

Spyro Reignited Trilogy will launch for PS4 and Xbox One September 21.
