Splinter Cell Blacklist RC plane takes flight

Promotional video proves flight capability for pack-in item

As you may recall, Splinter Cell: Blacklist will be available in a limited edition which includes a working remote-controlled plane. The plane is based upon the design of the C-147B Paladin which Sam Fisher pilots in the game and here we see some footage of this interesting pack-in item in action.

It takes off, it lands, it flies around a soccer field. The plane is capable of attaining a speed of up to 35 MPH with a battery that will keep you in the air as long as four minutes a charge. That doesn’t sound like a lot but, while I don’t know much about model airplanes, I bet the challenges of designing these things with a battery that isn’t so heavy as to restrict flight capability while still having enough capacity to offer a good flight time are nothing to sneeze at.

Neither is the price. The Splinter Cell Blacklist Paladin Multi-Mission Aircraft Edition is listed at $169.99 over at Amazon.
