Everyone’s favorite podcast (credit Animal Crossing with that joke) Splatoon sold one million danged copies in Japan and Nintendo is celebrating the success of its original Wii U game with a newly announced Squid Sisters concert on January 30, 2016.

“Splatoon Squid Sisters Live 2016” will be held at the Makuhari Messe convention center, the same place where Tokyo Game Show lives.

Now, for a brief breakdown. Splatoon hit 1.6 million worldwide sales by the end of July, or in its first two months of availability. At that time, it had sold half a million in Japan and 1.1 million elsewhere. So in the 5 months since, Splatoon has moved another half a million in Japan.

It’s also worth noting that the million sold figure includes all copies (retail, digital, pack-in). But the latest physical sales reports have Splatoon‘s lifetime Japanese sales at 912,335. This means less than 10% of Japanese Splatoon sales are digital.
