We’ve come to the end of another splatfest, held this weekend on Nintendo’s arena-shooter Splatoon 2. This time around, the North American and European communities battled it out in a bid to decide which was the cooler of two science-fiction tropes: Time Travel or Teleportation.
The results are now in, and it looks like a clean sweep for Teleportation. The same skill that turned a baboon inside-out in The Fly took a hefty 58% of the Public Vote, before winning both gameplay points to give Marina a clear-cut victory over Pearl’s Team Time-Travel. I have to admit, I didn’t see this coming, probably because I can’t travel through time.
Splatoon 2 is currently approaching its endgame, with both developer support, content additions and splatfests themselves all winding down as we approach the summer season. No doubt we are slowing heading toward the inevitable battle of Pearl vs. Marina, a war which threatens to tear the planet apart. Batten down the hatches.
