You’re a squid now… You’re a sub now…

Nintendo fans who purchase a 12-month subscription to the new Nintendo Online service will receive a couple of new items for their squid kids and Octolings to sport in Switch shooter Splatoon 2.

Anyone who signs on the dotted line for the new service will received download codes for an exclusive baseball jersey, that tells people you’re paid up, and a bright-red sneaker set. Those who purchase a family subscription will receive eight codes, ensuring everyone in your family, all of whom love Nintendo and playing Splatoon 2 apparently, will bag the gear.

The paid online service is set to launch on September 18. Subscribers will gain access to a selection of old games we’ve bought five times before, a paid online service that was previously free, and cloud saves that you might lose at some point.

Splatoon 2 is available now on Nintendo Switch.
