Spirit Trials will be good practice for speedrunning Ori and the Will of the Wisps

Race ghosts in platforming challenges

The speedrunning community took a liking to Ori and the Blind Forest, and based on how well Ori and the Will of the Wisps is shaping up, I think they’re going to have a lot to dissect in this sequel.

At gamescom, Moon Studios debuted a new Spirit Trial mode that’ll feel right at home: it’s an asynchronous race against other players’ best times.  This footage comes from a relatively early area, Windswept Wastes, but you’ll be able to find more Spirit Trials “throughout the world.”

More than this neat little side element, I’m just happy to have a chance to highlight the new burrowing ability in Will of the Wisps. It’s even more satisfying than it looks, and that’s saying something.
