Just when we were ready to resign ourselves to the fact that Spider-Man games had reached their peak and were on the decline — in terms of quality — along comes this combat trailer for Web of Shadows, and melts our faces off.

It features a 3D combat system that would make any fan of the webhead proud, and seems to finally do the unthinkable: nail the Spider-Man experience to a tee. Not only does the trailer show ground and aerial combat merging together seamlessly, but you can even switch between the familiar red/blue and black suits on the fly. DO WANT!

Now if only we could talk these guys into taking over the Superman license…
