Soundgarden to debut new single in Guitar Hero

This fall, Soundgarden will release Telephantasm, a collection massive retrospective of the band’s career.

Here’s what this has to do with videogames — folks who pick up Guitar Hero: Warriors of Rock will get the entire 12-track album as downloadable content, playable in the game. Additionally, the first batch of Warriors of Rock discs will come with the full 12-track Telephantasm CD. On the game disc itself as part of the Warriors of Rock soundtrack will be the band’s newest single, “Black Rain,” which will be making its debut.

Warriors of Rock is out on September 28; Telephantasm is out on October 5. If you want it early (and don’t want to buy Warriors of Rock), three expanded versions of Telephantasm will be released on September 28 — a double-disc, a 3-LP vinyl, and a “Super Deluxe Collector’s Edition.”
