As if the game itself wasn’t already good at crushing a player’s spirit, Sony’s Japan Studio has ground the boot in by stating that no Demon’s Souls sequel is forthcoming. However, studio member Takeshi Kajii has said that since everybody loves the damn game, there’s no ruling out a followup in the future.Â
“At the moment, my answer is ‘no sequel!’,” says Kajii. “However, we have been encouraged by all the players, and this title is so well supported, and besides we like this title so much.
“Well, this is my own feeling, but I think one day we could bring you another Demon’s Souls …”
Right now, Demon’s Souls developer From Software is working on another PS3 exclusive title, Project Dark, which many have speculated could be at least a spiritual followup to Demon’s Souls. Whatever it is, From has proven itself as a maker of unique and awesome Japanese games, so I’m itching to see what the studio cooks up next.Â
