Sony launches Sodium, an MMO space in Home

Sony has announced that it’s launching an MMO inside Home today called Sodium One.

Players can enter in to the Sodium “Teleporter” found in Home’s Central Plaza to play along with the kind-of-but-not-really free-to-play title. Called a “social gaming environment,” you’ll be able to battle against other players in objective-based mini-games, as well as larger arcade-style games and other community events.

So like I said, it’s free to play until you have to pay. You can hop right in and play a game called “Salt Shooter” where you’ll use a tank to hunt robots. But if you want more, you can pay to unlock levels and “experiences” by buying virtual items, which Sony says will range from $0.99 to $4.99.

Curious little idea Sodium is. Check it out and let us know what you think.
