Without a doubt, the upcoming PlayStation Network title LittleBigPlanet was my most-wanted game to play at Sony’s Gamers Day event. Since first seeing it along with everyone else at GDC, the game has been stuck in my mind ever since as one of the key games to make the PlayStation 3 so worthwhile.
Well, it was a bit of good news and bad news in San Diego. While it was great that I finally was able to test out the controls on LittleBigPlanet, it really sucked that all we got to test out was the same playable demo shown at GDC — and we weren’t even allowed to mess with the on-the-fly customization tools!
Regardless, the game is good and really shows its worth in the party/multiplayer area. The fact you can grab your fellow players and drag them around or slap them in the face, or anything else that is relatively harmless makes for an engaging play session.
The only sad part is that Sony wouldn’t let us mess around with those damn tools. Come on Sony, you can’t give us the peanut butter then take away the jelly!

Players can make their world as open or as secretive to explore as they like. When it’s ready, they can invite anyone within the LittleBigPlanet community to come and explore their patch – or can go and explore everybody else’s.
