Sony being sued 55 times over PSN data breach

According to one of Sony’s insurance firms, the company is dealing with no less than 55 class-action suits over the PlayStation Network hacking scandal. Zurich American revealed the number while it was trying to escape liability in covering Sony’s defense costs.

Zurich has received requests for coverage from Sony but is refusing to pay up since digital attacks aren’t covered in the agreement.

While Sony’s public face portrays a company that has recovered and moved on, it’s clear that the fallout from the PSN hack is still being felt. 55 suits though? That’s bloody ridiculous.
