Sony has announced a brand new loyalty program designed to give fans “exclusive status, recognition, and rewards based on a variety of PlayStation-centric activity they engage in across the PlayStation ecosystem.”Â
PS Rewards is due for a Spring 2011 launch, following a beta limited to select PS Plus subscribers and the Gamer Advisory Panel. The program, which is free to join, upgrades players from Select to Pro to Legendary based on various activities, including downloading movies and taking part in surveys.Â
The potential rewards include “PSN avatars that display member status in the program, dynamic themes and PlayStation Home content, as well as the opportunity to participate in members-only sweepstakes and giveaways, the first of which is an all expenses paid trip to be PlayStation’s guest at the 2011 Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas.”
