Sony announces a price drop for PS Vita in Japan

About $200 for both WiFi and 3G

Opening this early morning’s PlayStation Vita Japanese streaming event, Sony announced a price drop for Vita. The new price of 19,980 yen comes out to about $200 USD for both the WiFi and 3G models. Again, this is for Japan right now. This price change is effective Feb. 28.

Also, an Ice Silver model will be available on that same day in a Phantasy Star Online 2 bundle.

Get a load of my screencap from the stream in our gallery. How great is that?

You can’t really do a straight across price conversion from Yen to Dollar, but I’d bet our price drop will come right in at $200. Expect to hear more on that later this week, I’d bet.
