Sony and Nintendo sued over wireless use

Recommended Videos

Some little turd company named Wall Wireless LLC (great name, guys) is suing gaming giants Sony and Nintendo as well as gaming wannabe Nokia over wireless use in their devices. Apparently these three have infringed on U.S. patent 6,640,086, named “Method and Apparatus for Creating and Distributing Real-Time Interactive Media Content Through Wireless Communication Networks and the Internet.”

They’re calling out the PSP, DS, and Nokia’s hipper phones, and name certain online games like Mario Kart DS and WipeOut Pulse. It seems that all three were notified as early as October 2008. I’m sure all three saw it and blew it off like I do junk mail.

Wall is seeking permanent injunction, damages, costs, expenses, fees, and more, says Edge.

From the complaint:

As a result of Defendants’ infringement of the ‘086 patent, Wall Wireless has suffered monetary damages that are compensable … by no less than a reasonable royalty

You almost can’t blame these guys, though.
