Gotta Take Time
Sega has announced that its postponed Sonic the Hedgehog news – which was originally expected to be revealed in March – is to be delayed further, and will now be held back until an undisclosed date.
The mystery news was originally expected to drop at SXSW 2020 last month, but said event was canceled due to the ongoing COVID-19/coronavirus pandemic. Sega originally stated that it would instead release the news sometime this month, but a new tweet on the Sonic the Hedgehog Twitter implies that this will no longer be happening.
“Hi everyone – we know delays are way past not cool,” begins the tweet. “But with the world in its current state, and to keep our teams safe, we need to wait to show you our SXSW content until things have settled… Thanks for your patience, and we’ll let you know as soon as we have a date to share!”
The last mainline Sonic video game was Sonic Forces in 2017. The recent Sonic the Hedgehog movie was a smash success, and is now available to watch on digital streaming services.
