Someone used a dance pad to clear Champion’s Road in Super Mario 3D World

Rhythm hell

After hundreds of attempts, Twitch streamer PeekingBoo has bested Champion’s Road, the big eff-you obstacle-course level of Super Mario 3D World, with his trusty dance pad.

Over the past year, he’s beaten entire games with the unconventional setup — Super Mario Sunshine, VVVVVV, and Shovel Knight, to name a few — but this challenge in particular has got to feel extra sweet. Even on a good day, with a proper gampad, Champion’s Road is bad news.

Thinking back on how many aggravating tries it took me before I could reliably reach the final sequence, much less collect the keys needed to progress, I’m amazed at the skill and dedication on display here. And I just love how nonchalant he is about the victory while it’s still settling in.

Then there’s the eventual realization: “It’s done. And now I don’t know what to do.”
