So, uh, EA is giving out The Sims 2 Ultimate for free

All expansion and ‘stuff’ packs included

EA recently announced the end of its technical support for The Sims 2 and in doing so said that players would be given a free The Sims 2 Ultimate Collection upgrade as thanks.

That was an unexpected move, but this one’s even more surprising: folks who don’t even own The Sims 2 can also get the game and all of its expansions for free.

You just need to have an Origin account and, from the Games tab, redeem the product code “I-Love-The-Sims” — it’ll remain active until July 31, 2014 at 10:00am Pacific.

Never once thought I’d own any Sims expansion content, and now I have it all. Wild!
