[Update: Reader Aurvant received the invite email and wanted to clarify that it’s simply a chance to get into the beta; the invite itself doesn’t come with a download key.]
It sounds like Crysis 2 multiplayer beta invites are out in the wild, and it seems like PlayStation 3 and PC owners are being left out in the dust, at least for the time being.Â
Invitations for the beta (which are being sent out to a select number of individuals who signed up on the game’s community website) are indicating that the beta requires an Xbox 360 and an Xbox Live Gold account.Â
“There are a very limited number of tokens available which is why we want to make sure you, our valued community gets a chance to participate,” the invitation reads. Ironically, the invite was sent to Kotaku by a reader… who doesn’t have an Xbox 360. Good use of those “limited number of tokens,” I’d say.Â
