Two of SNK’s coolest old-school fighters, Real Bout Fatal Fury and its sequel, The Newcomers are being re-released today on modern platforms by retro-enthusiasts Hamster, as part of their ongoing Neo Geo ACA range.

Which game you’re getting, and if you’ll see it at all, is unfortunately oddly specific. The original Real Bout lands on Nintendo Switch worldwide today, with Real Bout 2 coming to the Xbox One. The latter is also listed for PS4, but, according to Hamster’s cumbersome website, may only be available on the Japanese PSN store.

The 1995 release of Real Bout saw the series step up to meet the tough competion presented by other fighters in the mid-’90s. It’s 1998 sequel, The Newcomers, pushed the Neo Geo software to new limits, and is arguably second only to Garou: Mark of the Wolves as the finest fighter in the Fatal Fury series. RB2 also features the debut of boxer Rick Strowd and the ever-hungry Xiangfei.

Real Bout Fatal Fury will be available to download today on Nintendo Switch. Real Bout Fatal Fury 2 launches on PS4 and Xbox One today, dependent on territory.
