Snaaaaake! Japanese PSN gets Metal Gear Solid

Recommended Videos

Ah, the game that started it all. Well, it really didn’t; — that honor goes to NES titles Metal Gear and personal favorite, Snake’s Revenge. But the PlayStation’s Metal Gear Solid sold millions of copies and recieved heavy praise from the gaming community. Its popularity bumped the franchise up there with the other big ones, and it helped Solid Snake became a gaming icon.

Snake is back for an encore on the Japanese PlayStation Network, according to Hexus. Famitsu says that the the 1998 stealth action title Metal Gear Solid will hit the PS3’s Network this Spring. It seems that Sony is warming us up for the June worldwide release of Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots.

Although not confirmed, I’d be willing to bet that US and EU version announcements will make their way out soon.

What about you? Are you willing to give MGS another run? I think it would be pretty great to pop this onto the PSP and play it on the go as a refresher.
