Smash Ultimate is getting a Daemon x Machina collaboration

No Astral Chain though?

Are you still playing those Smash spirit events? No? Well too bad, Nintendo is going to keep doing them until the (presumed) second Fighter Pass for the game runs out. Only when the very last character is announced (Waluigi?) will you be free of spirit board promotions.

Speaking of, there’s a new one in town, and it’s pimping a brand new Switch release: Daemon X Machina. No, Matt Damon is not a sticker, but four new spirits will debut in Smash Ultimate as a part of the festivities, which will kick off on September 27 for five days.

I feel like Astral Chain should have gotten the same treatment around its launch, given that it’s a better game and follows the exact same “third party developing a Nintendo-published Switch exclusive” scheme. But oh well, we’ll take this one and be happy about it! After all, Smash Ultimate is the game that keeps on giving, and will likely go down in history as the most-supported fighter of all time.
