Sleek puzzler Fractal coming soon to PC/Mac

Recommended Videos

From the fine makers of Auditorium comes a stylin’ new puzzle game for Mac and PC. Quite appropriately, it’s been named Fractal. The basic mechanic that’ll have you daydreaming of flying shapes sounds pretty simple at first: you push around fractals and try to create blooms.

In the beginning levels, you only have one color to deal with, which means Fractal is more or less you clicking maniacally until pretty colors fill up the screen. With multiple colors, winning becomes entirely based in strategic thinking.

Similar to Cipher Prime Studios’ last game, sound isn’t an afterthought here either. A quick example I can give is that the closer you become to running out of “pushes” and ultimately lose, the slower the background music becomes. Try Fractal out for yourself with this in-browser demo.

The full game — which is free of DRM, I should add — won’t be out until Saturday, May 15. If you like what you see in the demo, take note that the pre-order price is $9.99 while the launch-day price will be $14.99.
