Slant Six Games laying off staff temporarily

Again

Slant Six Games, in a statement to GamesIndustry International, has confirmed that the team behind Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City and several SOCOM games has put into effect a round of temporary layoffs this week.

“This necessary measure has been taken to reduce the size of our team and to decrease interim operating costs while we continue to negotiate new business,” reads the statement. “Temporary layoffs provide us with a time period to keep everyone’s employment position open with full benefits. The intention is to reinstate all of the people affected when new projects or funding has been secure.”

You know, this actually isn’t the first time that Slant Six has used this method of temporarily laying off staff while the company seeks out new projects; a couple of months after the release of Raccoon City, for example, we saw the same thing happening to the company.

Slant Six Games’ transition to mobile gaming clearly hasn’t been going too well. Its latest game, Max’s Pirate Planet, is scheduled to launch sometime this month on Android and iOS.
