Skyrim is getting full mod tools next week

Recommended Videos

We’ve already got some crazy awesome mods for The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim on PC. The funny thing is that these mods are being made without the official mod tools. Next week, the floodgates can open: Bethesda is releasing the Creation Kit, which will let you have full access to developing your own custom content.

Patch 1.4 is also coming out at the same time and will fix bugs and some broken quests. You can read the full patch notes here.

Up until now, most of the mods have been texture replacements, custom armor, new clothes, graphical updates, and UI tweaks. With the Creation Kit, users can create scripts and design custom locations. This means we will soon see user-made quests, new locations, and perhaps enhancements of existing locations.
