Skyrim for Alexa is legit, can be downloaded right now

Alexa, please kill me

Even if Bethesda took the “Skyrim on everything” joke behind the shed and shot it last night, the company wasn’t content to just let people laugh at their absurdity. Skyrim on Alexa is actually real and can be played on your smart devices right now. Talk about dedication to a throwaway gag.

In a nice turn of events, you won’t need to own an Alexa to give it a shot. Skyrim: Very Special Edition works through the Amazon Shopping app, so you can give it a shot with any regular smart device. All you need to do is download the app, click the Alexa icon while inside and tell her, “Alexa, open Skyrim.” For some reason, this is US only, so I apologize to our overseas readers.

From there, the game proceeds like an old-school text-based adventure game. You make decisions based on scenarios the game presents to you, just with everything having a Skyrim flavor. I’m not sure if this is a full-fledged game or just a really elaborate joke, but there is bound to be someone that will see this through to the end.
