We’ve all been waiting for Skate 2 for a long time. Ever since the original skate. revolutionized skateboarding videogames back in 2007, gamers have been looking forward to a bigger, better, and more badass sequel. Oh, wait … that’s Gears of War 2 . Well, from the reviews quoted in the Skate 2 commercial above, the billing that Cliff Bleszinski gave Gears 2 is just as applicable to this game.
Skate 2 boasts greatly improved online functionality , a PSN/XBL demo (I’ve downloaded it, but haven’t tried it out yet), and steaks for press — and it’ll be available tomorrow, January 21st, for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. Sadly, it appears that it’ll also be the last game by EA Black Box, which, reportedly, is being closed down . Be on the lookout for the Destructoid review so you can find out whether Skate 2 is, indeed, a glorious swan song for the studio.
