I think it’s a shame that Raven Software’s long-delayed Singularity isn’t getting the attention it deserves. For whatever reason, publisher Activision hasn’t really gotten behind the title like you might expect. But from what I’ve seen, it looks pretty good. Of course, the last time I had seen the game in action was a year ago at last year’s E3.

So what’s the problem? Does Activision not believe in the title enough to give it the big push it would need to be successful? And if so, is that because their resources are being poured into other titles — Guitar Hero: Warriors of Rock, Call of Duty: Black Ops, Transformers: The War for Cybertron, and more — or because the game just isn’t up to snuff?

Again, haven’t seen it in a year. But what I did see looked interesting, enough so that I was totally bummed when the game was pushed out of 2009 and into 2010. This latest trailer shows off one of the reasons why it caught my attention — the Time Manipulation Device. It does a bunch of stuff (turns time forwards and backwards, can slow down and stop time, etc.), but this particular trailer focuses on its ability to manipulate gravity. Grabbing a missile and sending it back at your enemy mid-flight? Sold!

Singularity is out on June 29 for PC, PlayStation 3, and Xbox 360, and I hope it doesn’t suck.
