Hear ye, hear ye… Roll out the red carpet, put on your finery, and prepare to hail the coming of royalty, for today sees the return of Mortal Kombat’s ass-kickin’, smug-smirkin’, hair-brushin’ mom – today sees the return of her royal highness, Queen Sindel of Edenia.

The fourth member of Mortal Kombat 11’s Kombat Pack, Sindel goes live in-game today for combat pack owners, ahead of her official release on December 3. A series veteran, Sindel has been part of the MK universe since 1995’s Mortal Kombat 3, where she unwittingly played a key role in Shao Kahn’s invasion of EarthRealm.

Since then, she has been seen as something of a secondary character by the MK community at large, but all that changed with the release of her gameplay trailer last week, which saw a fans explode with delight at her bewitching visual design and wild fighting style, which includes her powerful scream, troublesome hairdo, and even her trusty Kwan Do from the Mortal Kombat: Deception years.

As you’re all sick to death of hearing, Sindel is my favourite Mortal Kombat character of all time, as well as my longest-played fighting game character period. And her inclusion essentially locks me into at least another year of this title. I’d like to thank Cassie Cage for her stalwart efforts in keeping me ass-kicking in the interim – shine on you crazy diamond. But my main squeeze has come home, and we gots heads to split.

Mortal Kombat 11 is available now on PS4, PC, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch.
