How to get abducted by aliens

To trigger an alien abduction in The Sims 2, buy a Farstar e3 Telescope from the catalog and have your Sims ‘Stargaze’ through it at night. It must be during nighttime hours (7 pm to 2 am) and this particular telescope. You can find the Farstar e3 Telescope within the Buy Mode menu once you select ‘Sort by Room’ then ‘Outside’, and ‘Hobbies’.

It’s worth noting that the chance for an alien abduction is a random occurrence (around 5%), so it may take several attempts until it triggers. Your chances increase the longer you have your Sims perform the ‘Stargaze’ interaction. You can also get abducted if your Sim performs the ‘Watch for UFOs’ interaction at the telescope (unlocked at Science skill level 9).

You can increase your odds of an abduction if you have The Sims 2: Free Time installed. In this expansion, Sims with a Knowledge Aspiration can unlock the ‘Summon Aliens’ Aspiration Benefit. With this benefit, Sims can perform the ‘Summon Aliens’ interaction on any telescope to increase their chances of getting abducted.

Additionally, if you have the Nightlife expansion, Sims may get abducted from using the ElectroDance Sphere if they have already experienced the phenomena once before.

How to trigger an alien pregnancy

Unless you use cheats, only male Sims can get pregnant from an alien abduction in The Sims 2. If you just have the base game installed, male Sims are almost always guaranteed to come back pregnant as long as they are not within 5 in-game days from becoming an Elder and there is space in their household (less than 8 members).

This rate lowers if you have the Free Time, Apartment Life, or Ultimate Collection installed. Once a Sim is pregnant with an alien baby it will function the same way as a normal pregnancy with Sims delivering the baby after 3 in-game days.

Young Adults can also get pregnant if you have The Sims 2: University installed but you must age up your Sim soon after the abduction and move them back into a residential lot for it to take place. 

It is also possible to have alien twins. Twins usually have a 10% probability, although this can be increased if you have the ‘Super Fertility’ Aspiration Benefit from the ‘Family’ Aspiration. You can also increase your odds by having the Sim eat Cheesecake (requires the Open for Business expansion) or by using cheats.

Sims 2 alien cheats

If you wish for your female Sim to have an alien pregnancy or you wish to instantly get abducted without waiting around, cheats can help you out. First and foremost, you’ll need to open the cheat window in-game by following these instructions depending on the platform you’re playing on:

• PC: Ctrl + Shift + C
• Mac: Command + Shift + C
• PlayStation: Pause the game
• Xbox: L, R, D-pad up, A, back

Then, enter this into the window to enable cheats in your game:

For an instant alien abduction, click to control the Sim you want to get abducted. Now hold down Shift and click on the telescope. Select ‘DEBUG – Get Abducted’ to trigger the abduction.

For an instant alien pregnancy (male or female) hold Shift and click on a Sim in your household. Select ’Spawn…’, then ‘Tombstone of L and D’. This will summon a tombstone. Click on it and cycle through the options until you see ‘Make me alien pregnant’. Click on it and make sure you’re controlling the Sim you wish to make pregnant while you do so.

Once your Sim is pregnant with an alien baby, you can cheat them into having twins. Simply open the cheat window and type ‘forcetwins’.
