SimCity going futuristic in Cities of Tomorrow expansion

Scrub that dirty, filthy air

SimCity is due to receive its first major content expansion next week with the release of Cities of Tomorrow, which introduces a host of new building types like drone factories and air scrubbers. Check out the latest trailer above to see some of the new innovations.

As much as I love SimCity as a series (particularly when it gets all sci-fi on me), the small map size for cities remains a dealbreaker for me. I miss being able to build a truly sprawling metroplex, instead of a whole bunch of smaller, regional cities. I do quite like the conflict they’re setting up in this expansion though, which puts corporate and academic innovation at odds with one another in a tongue-in-cheek manner.

If you’re down for that sort of thing, Cities of Tomorrow releases on November 12 and can be pre-ordered for $29.99.
