Sick looking Vapor series controllers coming to Xbox Design Lab and retail

Swirlies are cool now?

Every now and then, you just need a fresh look. Whether it’s kicks, some additions to your wardrobe, or a slick-looking new controller design. I’m talking a little more fashion-forward; fewer shades of black and white or gamer green.

Folks looking for the latter, Xbox is adding a little more variety to your collection. A new line of Xbox Vapor controllers is rolling out. The best part is that you can choose the one that Microsoft has already cooked up. Or, you can concoct one for yourself in the Xbox Design Lab.

Xbox started the vapor look with the Stormcloud Vapor Wireless Controller that debuted in August. It must have been pretty popular, as we’re getting an entire line of custom controller options based on the vapor look.

The Xbox team did create a new iteration of the Vapor series that will retail separately from the Xbox Design Lab choices. Dubbed the Dream Vapor Special Edition controller, it sports a cool-looking pink and purple tone that, of course, features all the swirlies. The controller is listed for $69.99 on the Xbox Store and will be released on February 6.

Xbox Series X|S Dream Vapor controller

As for your options in the Xbox Design Lab, Microsoft revealed that there will be six top-case options to choose from. Styles include Electric Vapor, Noctural Vapor, Fire Vapor, and Cyber Vapor. As well as the OG Stormcloud Vapor and new Dream Vapor styles that you can customize more to your liking.

Like most Series X|S official controllers, the Vapor series comes with up to 40 hours of battery life, Bluetooth and Xbox Wireless connectivity, a hybrid D-Pad, textured bumper, trigger, and side cap grips, as well as diamond-patterned grips for a comfortable feel on the back.

Choosing a Vapor series look within the Xbox Design Lab adds a $9.99 upcharge to your custom Xbox Series X|S controller. You can begin workshopping ideas as of today.
