Is there any reason to play through the campaign in season 1?

While creating your seasonal character for season 1 in Diablo 4, you may notice the option to Skip Campaign. As long as you have completed the campaign at least once on any character, either on the Seasonal or Eternal realm, you will have this option. Skipping the campaign will do so entirely. Your character will start in Kyovashad, and the world will appear like you have completed all acts from the campaign.

However, even though you have the option, you may still be wondering: Should you skip the Diablo 4 season 1 campaign?

In most cases, yes, you should skip the Diablo 4 season 1 campaign

Story and content-wise, nothing from the campaign changes with the new season. The brand new seasonal quest involving Cormond and the recent Malignant Corruption actually takes place after the campaign. Therefore, you must either complete the campaign or skip it to gain access to the new quest.

If this is the first time you’re skipping the campaign, you’re probably wondering how you’re supposed to level. Thankfully, it’s pretty easy to do so. If you have played Diablo III, it’s comparable to Adventure Mode. While there are no rifts to run, you can complete the many Side Quests and Optional Dungeons the game has to offer. This is doubly effective because you will also be gaining Renown for completing those tasks, which will unlock skill points and paragon points.

Also, you can always grind experience the same way you did on your Eternal Realm character post-campaign. Once you reach World Tier 3 you can do Helltide Events and Nightmare Dungeons. This is a great way to level while gearing up as well.
