Resident Evil 4 Remake changes up a few elements of gameplay from the original masterpiece, including how some weapons work. One of the biggest changes is the lack of a laser sight acting as your aiming method for most guns by default. But there is a Resident Evil 4 Remake laser sight for some weapons that might be worth picking up.

Resident Evil 4 Remake laser sight attachment, explained

For veteran Resident Evil fans who played the original RE4 and loved it, one of the surprises for the third-person gameplay is the removal of laser sights for every weapon as the default aiming option. Instead, each gun in the game uses a modern-style reticle for players to aim with.

The crosshairs on the guns put the game more in line with other Capcom titles, such as the past two Resident Evil remakes. Thankfully, there is a way to use the laser sight in the remake, but only for a few select weapons.

Instead of being a default function of each gun, the laser sight is an optional attachment for three weapons in the game. Here are the guns that can use the laser sight in RE4 Remake:

These three handguns are the only weapons that can use the laser sight; not even every pistol in RE4 Remake can use it. The attachment brings back the old-school style of aiming, removing the modern crosshairs and providing some added accuracy.

Players who want to pick up the laser sight have to purchase the attachment from the Merchant for 10 Spinel after reaching Chapter 2 of the main story.

As for whether or not you should spend the Spinel to pick up the laser sight is entirely up to you. If you prefer the nostalgic way that Leon used his guns in the past, this might be a welcome way to bring back that feeling of playing the game for the first time.

On the other hand, you might want to get the laser sight for a significant boost to accuracy. Some players even note that it removes some of the bloom effect for its three pistols, which is the RNG factor that determines whether or not a shot lands where you think it should.

In particular, if you use a gun like the Punisher, the laser sight can turn it into the best handgun around. At its max upgrade level, it’s capable of blasting through five enemies in a line at once with a single bullet. Couple this with the laser sight and you’ll have pinpoint accuracy.
