If all of what we’re seeing and hearing is accurate, Heavy Rain: The Origami Killer will be one hell of a powerhouse title for the PlayStation 3. This is especially good news for Sony, considering the game is slated as an exclusive for the system. But even if the developer, Quanitco Dreams, wanted to jump ship at any point, it sounds like they wouldn’t be able to. Heavy Rain’s director, David Cage, doesn’t think the game is possible on the Xbox 360.
“I think this game can only be done on Playstation 3. We used all the SPUs,” Cage told NowGamer in a recent interview. “I think to do the visuals, and all the stuff we’re doing would be too difficult [on the 360]. There are amazing physics there, and stuff with crowds that you just couldn’t really get.”
Again, judging by the screenshots and video we reported on or received, it seems like Cage is right on target with his assessment. Plus, you know, he’s a developer. He knows these things.
