Shin Megami Tensei III: Nocturne HD trailer is suitably unnerving

Do you have demons?

Atlus has released a new trailer for its upcoming remaster Shin Megami Tensei III: Nocturne HD. The Japanese preview shines a light on some of the locations, characters, and demons that await our protagonist on their dramatic and spiritual adventure.

Some very strange beings await our hero in the Vortex World, and the remaster of Shin Megami Tensei III: Nocturne HD will offer a whole new audience an opportunity to encounter them. While recent years have seen many new fans introduced to the SMT universe via spin-off series Persona, I’ve been reliably informed that those coming from Persona to a mainline Shin Megami Tensei title for the first time may be in for a bit of a culture shock.

The trailer ends with a brief look at Dante, hero of Capcom’s Devil May Cry saga, who will be making a return appearance in Shin Megami Tensei III: Nocturne HD as a DLC character. “New Funky Mode” remains sadly unconfirmed as of this writing.

Shin Megami Tensei III: Nocturne HD launches in Japan on PS4 and Nintendo Switch October 29, before heading west in the spring of 2021.
