Shadow of the Beast is reminiscent of the PS1 era

Wild 9 + Oddworld + Beast + Gore

The PlayStation 4 exclusive remake of Shadow of the Beast finally has a release date: May 17, 2016.

It looks to be a side-scrolling brawler which somehow manages to be oddly reminiscent of such classic PlayStation games as Wild 9 and Oddworld; I can’t quite put my finger on why, exactly, but maybe it is the camera angle or animation?

Either way, it looks like the game could be a beastly good time for old-school fans.
