After a slight delay, we now have the precise date for Serious Sam HD: The First Encounter‘s Xbox LIVE Arcade arrival. January 13 has been pinned down as the debut, a day which will surely be full of shooting everything that moves and then firing off into the sky while screaming to declare glorious victory.

It’s got four-person online co-op and costs 1200 Microsoft Points ($15) — did we already know that? I was distracted by Sam’s ripped sleeve and completely forgot.

When it comes to Serious Sam anything, the consensus tends to be “play it on a PC or die” due to the fast-paced nature of these games. I tend to agree, but hell, if you’ve been doing it up console-style for shooters these past few years, you’re so used to using sticks that it likely won’t even matter.

Plus, you can pretty much just fire like an absolute madman and still win at the game. Who needs precision when you have Sam’s weapon cache?
