Xbox 360 and PC owners are thrilled that Croteam have decided to bring an updated version of their first person shooter, Serious Sam, to the platforms. PlayStation 3 owners may be scratching their heads though — where’s the love?
According to Croteam’s CEO Roman Ribaric, the plan was always to bring Serious Sam HD to PlayStation Network. But when the small developer couldn’t get the financial support to develop the PlayStation 3 version alongside the PC and 360 games, it decided to hold off. But it seems everyone else was against it, telling them not to bother.
“We keep hearing over and over from publisher, investors, marketing and other suits that players from one console, in this case PNS, wouldn’t want to get it later, let’s say eight month and seven days after, if it’s released sooner on the other console, here that would be XBLA,” he tells G4TV.
Ribaric calls it “a lot of bull.” From how it sounds, Croteam would be willing to develop a version of Serious Sam HD for PSN, provided you promise you’ll buy it. Or something to that affect. So the question is — would you be willing to wait for the PSN version of Serious Sam HD, or would you lose interest after the XBLA and PC versions shipped?
