Series composer returning for BioShock Infinite

Listen to an excerpt from Gary Schyman

Irrational Games co-founder and creative director Ken Levine has taken part in an Ask Me Anything to promote BioShock Infinite. Most notably, the AMA revealed that BioShock 1 and 2 composer Garry Schyman will be returning for the new game. While the music (and audio design, more generally) was probably the least of my concerns, this is good news regardless.

“His score is very different from the first two games, yet very much guided by the same aesthetic principles,” wrote Levine. “We were lucky to have him and I can’t wait until you get to hear some of his stuff. He’s working in a different, sparer style, but it’s awesome.” A sample of Schyman’s work can be found above.

I came for the talk about Infinite and stayed for the beard advice and apparent fact about Todd Howard once tweaking Levine’s nipple. Definitely worth a read, as the topic does shift to System Shock 2, writing for videogames, and other areas of interest.
