Sadly, my Japanese is a little rusty/non-existent

Japanese publisher Kadokawa has announced that the stars of FromSoftware’s tough-as-nails adventure title Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice are set to appear in an upcoming manga adaptation, which will release in Japan at the end of next month.

Sekiro Gaiden: Shinazu Hanbei (or Sekiro Side-Story: Hanbei the Undying) will be a prequel tale from artist Shin Yamamoto, previously responsible for the Monster Hunter manga Senkou no Karidou. Details are vague as to Hanbei the Undying’s narrative, though it appears to feature an encounter between Hanbei and the Sword Saint, Isshin Ashina. FromSoft will be on-hand to supervise the manga’s realisation.

Although no plans have been announced to localise the comic for the west, it has been licensed by U.S. publisher Yen Press. So hopefully for Sekiro fans an English translation will be forthcoming. Sekiro Gaiden: Shinazu Hanbei is expected to release in Japan May 27.

Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice is available now for PS4, PC and Xbox One.
