You think it’s easy to just poop out a new character design and turn it into the new face of your company? Think Sonic The Hedgehog was whipped up, red shoes and everything, with as much thought and deliberation as placing an order at KFC? But perhaps you do have the wherewithal to do one better than ye olde Service Games.

Yakuza producer Toshihiro Nagoshi will be hosting a new live web series called SEGA Raw on Japanese streaming site niconico. But the show needs a mascot, which is where the fans come in. Through June 9, 2013, you can submit an original character to this page, and the winning design will be used to promote the show!

The best part is that anyone, even non-Japanese residents, can enter the contest as long as they adhere to the requirements. Thankfully, Yakuza Fan has translated the rules for us. All you need to do is sign up for a niconico account, which has become super easy ever since an English version of the site was implemented.
